In Ohio, a parent interested in educating his/her child at home may request that the child be excused from compulsory school attendance for home education purposes.

There is no state or school district financial assistance for families who choose this option. If you are interested in home schooling your child, please complete the Ohio Home Education Notification form (ORC Section 3321.042) found at link. All forms should be sent within 5 calendar days after commencing home education, moving into a new school district or withdrawing from a public or non-public school, and by the thirtieth day of August each year thereafter.
