Mr. Brooks is sad that he will not be in the fifth grade any more. Over the past few weeks he had been trying to soak it all in and enjoy being with the fifth grade class knowing the time he had was coming to an end. He is going to miss seeing all the fifth graders every day and all the fun they had in class. Mr. Brooks is going to try to keep subbing for the rest of the year so he can see all of the fifth graders again and so he can see them in the hallway. He is sad that he won't see everyone every day because he thinks he has good relationships with all the students.
Mr. Brooks liked being the gym teacher, but it was something that he wasn't used to. Teaching younger students and teaching in a gym was something he wasn’t familiar with. It was good experience, however, he prefers the classroom. He knows it is not a permanent position he would want.
Mr. Brooks was excited when he heard about the subbing position for Mrs. Kober. He really wanted to come back to the fifth grade and teach. He said that it is probably his favorite grade to teach and he knew all the fifth grade teachers from when he did his student teaching. When he heard he could substitute for her he was really happy to take the position.
His dream job is teaching fifth grade, but he knows there aren’t any teaching positions open at this time. He knows he will see us again when he is subbing in the building. He will continue to substitute teach at United until he gets a job here or another district.
