There is no school tomorrow on 11/7/23 due to our staff in-service day.


Good morning, United Local Schools will be on a two-hour delay today, November 1st, due to weather conditions. All transportation will run two hours later than normal for arrival. A message will go out to staff and students at 6 a.m.


6th graders had so much fun for our Halloween activities. Students in Mrs. Tedeschi's room played Minute to Win It games and painted pumpkins!






Fall festivities were in full swing today! There were amazing costumes, carmel apple making, pumpkin painting, and more! Sixth grade had an amazing day! 🎃👻🍂🍁











The 6th grade students had a blast today! In Mrs. Markijohn's room they made pumpkin launchers!








Mrs Markijohn's class used starbursts to show the rock cycle!









Sending a big thank you to United Local's PTO for their continued support and a nice coffee break for the staff yesterday! We truly appreciate all your work!


The kiddos in Mrs. Markijohn's 6th grade science class had a blast making igneous rocks today! We made volcanos errupt and looked at where the erruptions overlapped creating the marbling in our rocks!






Columbiana County Sheriff's Office will be conducting their yearly training on our campus on the following four dates:

Our United Community Meeting
When: Wednesday, November 8th 2023 at 6:30 pm
Where: United Local HS Library (Auditorium or Cafeteria if needed)


This week is National School Bus Safety Week, October 16th—20th.
We, as car drivers, can help our children get to school safely by avoiding all
distractions and following a few important safety rules when encountering buses, pick-up and drop-off spots, and driving in a school zones.


The students shared their metamorphic rock sandwiches today!
The kiddos put "minerals" on their sandwich and then used heat and pressure to create a
"rock!"
They used lots of creativity for heat and pressure and interesting ingredients for their minerals!!




8th Grade Washington D.C. Parent Meeting tomorrow evening at 6 PM in the auditorium.

In Mrs. Markijohn's 6th grade science class the students made Sedimentary rock parfets!
Th Kiddos were "wind and rain" and "weathered and eroded" their rocks (cereal) to a creek bed (pudding cup). Then the students helped to compact and cement the layers together for a delicious sedimentary rock!









Today was the perfect day for a visit to learn more about our honeybee hives here at United! 🐝 The sixth graders came, saw, and overcame some fears. It was such an amazing learning experience!
